Zhongshan Academy inspires all members of the school community to be life-long learners that embrace future challenges and approach them with resilience and confidence. They love and care about the environment and are concerned about the future of our planet. At ZSA we guide and motivate our students in the development of their interest and deeply rooted love for learning.

IB mission statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

MIT COMPUTER SCIENCE电脑编程

  • The curriculum is based on Scratch and ScratchJr both developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ScratchJr is an Ipad based APP and is designed for students in grades 1-2. In Grades 3-4 students are going to learn to code with Scratch, followed by exploration of HTML is grades 5-6.
  • 在我们的课程中一个重要的部分是以麻省理工学院研发的Scratch和Scratch Jr作为基础的。 Scratch Jr是专为1-2年级的学生设计的,Ipad里的一个应用程序。3-4年级学生将会学习运用Scratch编码。5-6年级的学生将进行HTML的探索学习。

  • Multiple types of research indicate that students at schools with strong connections to nature exhibit increased learning outcomes, positive social and emotional development, decreased stress levels and that these schools are able to involve whole families in the education process.

  • Newest research into positive psychology shows that IQ, social status or family background do not have as much of an influence on our children future as their character. That is why we believe that it is our duty to assist our students in exploring their character strengths.

CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH CURRICULUM英语课程

  • The English curriculum is based on the British Cambridge Get Smart series with an integration of Chinese National Curriculum requirements. This way the students will be able to prepare for the standardized national tests and the Cambridge YLE examination.
  • 英语课程将以英国剑桥Super Minds系列为基础,并融入中国国家课程标准的要求。这样学生将能够同时准备标准化的国家测试和剑桥YLE考试。

MATHMEMATICS AND MANDARIN国家课程(数学/语文)

  • PISA tests show that Chinese students outperform the world in Mathematics, that’s why we believe it is important to keep to this high standard and follow the national curriculum. We are going to enhance the program by providing the students with an opportunity to apply their mathematics knowledge and skills in real life situations.

HARVARD MAKERSPACE创意空间

  • From the early years, our students will have a chance to work with wood, plastic, metal and other materials to design and create items of daily use. During the weekly maker class, they will learn to saw buttons, make simple furniture, cook meals and much more.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE CULTURE中国传统文化

  • Culture is the backbone of every civilized society and we believe that only through its deep understanding, will our students be able to develop into confident and successful individuals. By offering a wide array of classes, we encourage our students to engage into a we encourage our students to engage into a deep and meaningful inquiry into the Chinese and international cultures.

STRONG BODY WITH INTEREST用兴趣强健身体

  • Each week our students have to take part in at least 5 sports classes. In the PE class, they are expected to develop general abilities and traits including strength, stamina and flexibility. Twice a week during the extracurricular classes our students are expected to choose from a wide array of offered courses a sport of their interest, for example: basketball, football, golf, tennis and many more.

PROGRAMMING AND ROBOTICS计算机编程与机器人制造与应用

  • In the 21st century, the world we live in has changed so dramatically that even the most daring visionaries couldn’t have predicted it. Who knows how the world will look like in 15 years when our grade 1 students are going to be starting their careers. One thing is certain; Artificial intelligence are going to be a big part of that world. That’s why we want our students to be ready for that world by giving them a head start with robotics and computer programming classes incorporated into our curriculum.
  • 21世纪,在创新科技的引领下,我们的世界发生了巨大的变化。未来20年的职业世界我们无法预测。但有一件事情是肯定的:人工智能将占据未来职业领域的绝大部分。在ZSA课程里,我们提供学生相应的人工智能学习课程以培养学生的创新性思维和逻辑性思维,赋予学生应对未来变化的必要技能。因此,计算机编程,机器人制造与应用课程作为核心教学内容被纳入ZSA国际课程的体系中。

NATURE探索自然

  • ZSA applies the natural education concept that equips students with the appreciation of nature beauty, exploration as well as the mindset to respect the nature. At the ZSA we focus on providing our students with natural excursion, nature habitat trips and we make sure that our students learn to live we make sure that our students learn to live in harmony with the environment and reap the benefits associated with it.
  • ZSA课程运用自然教育理念,以探究循环的形式使学生融入大自然,通过对自然环境的探索、实现儿童对自然信息的有效采集、整理、编织,形成社会生活有效逻辑思维。ZSA课程以自然为师的教育形式涵盖自然探究课程、生物栖息地旅行。确保学生能够学会与自然环境和谐地生活,并能对地球上的有限资源进行有效利用。

DESIGN, CRAFTS AND MUSIC设计,工艺制造和音乐

  • We believe that Our student need to develop practical skills and that’s why they participate in multiple classes where they can use their imagination and creativity. We want our students to really understand the processes products have to go through from idea to creation, so that in the future all of our graduates will have the courage to dream big and create great things.
